Ceramics

My love for ceramics began in high school when I started hand-building with clay. I competed in VASE, making it to the Area competition with my two ceramic pieces in my junior year.

During my third semester of college in 2021, I took the introductory course and learned how to throw on the wheel. I continue to hone my skills, hoping to one day create works for the public to enjoy as sculptures and/or as functional pieces.

My high school teacher, Mrs. Tasha Carter, was the first one to inspire my passion for ceramic art. A graduate of Howard Payne University, located in my hometown, Mrs. Carter was the sole art teacher at Early High School for a number of years. She never fails to instill vigor and creativity in her students.
